Cocktails and Courtship

After a busy week at work preparing for the fashion show at the white gallery (only 6 days to go) as soon as the clock hit 5 I was free to go and soak up some sunshine.
Something about the sun coming out always puts me in a good mood, maybe it's the possibility of losing my less attractive gaunt vampire look and gaining a tantantan!! Or maybe it's that you can finally sit outside in the garden on a warm summers evening with a cocktail and food roasting on the BBQ........whichever one it is summer has finally emerged from the cold dark long winter and its going nowhere any time soon!

Friday night all i wanted was a night in but i sure as hell made the most of it!

Mint Mojitos and Mint Lamb burgers - with a little help from my lovely assistant Mr Marriott

If I've learn't anything over the years its that food is always the way to a mans heart......and cocktails are always the way to mine!

Mint Lamb Burgers - makes 8 mansize burgers (perfect for 4 people)
Minced Lamb 1Kg
Mint 14g or half a bag
Chilli 2 small fresh ones
Onions 1 large red
Garlic 2 cloves
Ground Cumin 1 tsp
Lemon Zest and half juice
Salt and Pepper (to season)

Ciabatta bread (to serve)

How to

Chop all ingredients till they are as fine as possible without losing a finger.

Add all the ingredients into a large bowl with the lamb and get stuck in! Mash, Squeeze and Need the mixture until you think the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Now separate into 8 and roll into balls.

Heat a large pan, add some oil and carefully place the balls into the pan, remember to mash them down to make your burgers take form.

Now i cooked these in a pan for about 7-8 minutes on each side (as they were rather thick), then set aside on a plate to rest for a few minutes before you serve.

Cook some ciabatta bread and cut in half, add your burger and serve!

These burgers are great with some good quality chedder cheese.

As my weekend has progressed it has just gotten more and more lovely!

Mr Marriott and I decided to make our Saturday abit countryfied so we headed off into the Kent countryside to a farm to feed some animals....sadly what i realized whilst there was that i may have abit of competition when it comes to my man.....

Thankfully he left them behind and he and i went onto a farmers market for some lunch.

Finishing off a wonderful weekend my gorgeous Mr Marriott presented me with a little present....

I'm dedicating this post to Mr Marriott (my perfect guy) and the lovely few days I've had before heading back to a hectic office and fashion show next weekend!

I'll give you guys all a sneak peak of the fashion show, models, backstage and outfits of the event!

Inspire my life

Since leaving LCF its taken me a while to get back into the swing of things in terms of sewing, DIY, customizing and dress making (all of which are the things are plan to do with my life). Having gradually gotten my flair back i thought i'd start with something simple like accessories.....

This particular accessory actually was inspired by a evening dress i made...

This was actually my first big project I've taken on....its boned, with a lace up back, floral embellishment around the waistline following towards the hem and a chiffon skirt, i absolutely love it and having completed it has only made me want to make more!!

This hair piece was slightly more fiddly but its mini tiara like appearance has got me thinking about the bigger projects i can do and i'm feeling rather inspired as it goes.

Rosee insists you go and get yourself inspired x
